Another Year Older!

Yesterday I turned another year older- but it was a GREAT day. I started off by making the smart choice of taking the day off. I awoke to the smell of yummy food being made and then Joe walked in the bedroom with a giant tray filled with my favorite breakfast items: french toast, oatmeal, scrambled egg whites, fruit and chai tea. It was a feast for a queen! :) He did such a great job. After I ate and opened my presents - a new beach towel, sunglasses, and some sweet Puma shoes (on top of the BOB stroller that I already got over the weekend, I then went back to bed. I woke up and took an hour long walk, came back and headed to the pool. Kamie even joined me for her lunch break so it was fun to chat with her. I then went to get a prenatal massage which was heavenly I might add! My back and leg muscles have been so tight and sore! After that I ran a few errands and met Joe at home. We went to our favorite restaraunt "El Meson" and had a fabulous dinner and key lime pie. We had to walk off some of the dinner coma by taking a stroll around Lake Calhoun. What a nice night it was!
Thanks Joe for the wonderful breakfast you made and the nice dinner. Thanks everyone for wishing me a happy b-day. Getting older isn't so much fun in general, but when you have a nice day it sure makes it a lot easier! :)

Watch Out Moms, Here I Come!

I have been talking about getting a BOB stroller for months now. Joe wasn't sold at first, but low and behold one showed up at the door on Friday (a black and tan one, not red)! I think this will be a great way for me to stay active after the baby comes- I can go jogging and the baby can sit in the car seat that attaches to the stroller. Watch out lakes of Minneapolis - here I come with little baby Hammond. :) Thanks Joe for being the best husband that I could ask for!

Work, work, work....

I usually don't write about work on my blog, but here is a sample of what I do at Target! I am hoping this can raise my VIP status in the Florida area. :)

New Target Hits the Spot
Format not a super store, but it will sell food

BY KEILANI BEST • FLORIDA TODAY • July 20, 2009

Target will open this week in West Melbourne's Hammock Landing shopping center, bringing a new layout concept and 135 jobs.

The store is only the third in Florida to feature the company's new format. It's not the Super Target in Viera and it's not the general merchandise stores in Melbourne, Titusville and Merritt Island, but more like a combination of the two styles.

"It's like a general merchandise store with an expanded food section," said spokeswoman Bridget Hammond. "In this type of store, you can go and get that box of Hamburger Helper, and you can go and get the hamburger."

The new concept features fresh produce, fresh meat and baked goods. It also will feature a Starbucks, eat-in café and pharmacy. But it offers a more limited selection of merchandise and food than SuperTarget and does not feature a deli or in-store bakery.

"You can't go and get the meat cut in front of you or the sushi," Hammond said. "But the new format offers guests selections of our most popular to-go items."

The 132,148-square-foot store will employ about 135 people, and according to Hammond, hiring is "pretty close" to being complete. There will be a soft opening Wednesday night so that workers can get a feel for their jobs and prepare for the grand opening Sunday.

It's Been A While!

I haven't posted anything for a couple of weeks - sorry. I haven't taken many pictures of anything so that is my excuse! Posts are boring without pictures! :) Well I am 30 and a half weeks along at this point - I can't believe we only have nine and a half weeks left until we get to meet baby Hammond! Time is flying by!
Here are some of the thigns we have have been up to in July: Went to my Dad/Pam's for the Fourth of July and to Mike and Shannon's cabin. We had a fun dinner with the Moen's and Nelson's. Joe had two state baseball tournaments and they didn't make it as far as the team had hoped, so that was disappointing. We attended a wedding recption of one of Joe's college friends down in Lakeville. We went to a BBQ for Karin who is moving to Kansas for the year to finish school. We also hit up Aquatennial days at Lake Calhoun. Now it's getting close to b-day time- first mine and then Joe's. It always gets really busy this time of year! More to come- hope everyone is having a fantastic summer! I can't believe it's already past mid-July...I am sure you all feel the same - yikes!

The Land of Cheese and Beer!

So we had a great time in Mlwkee. The highlights were: hanging with Joe's neice and nephew, Cooper and Reece, and bro and sis-in-law, Jason and Shelly, watching the Brewers win in the last inning, sitting up close to the field, and eating at Red Robin.

The first day we arrived, we hung out in the backyard and had some slip-n-slide time with the kids. Boy the weather was hot! We then head to the Red Robin for a very yummy dinner! Saturday we hung out and got ready for the game, met up with Joe's parents and aunts and uncles and tailgaited in the heat. We ate lots of yummy food! The game was amazing- we sat right behind the Brewers dugout and didn't miss an ounce of action. The players talked to us, they threw balls to Cooper and Reece and we even saw Joe and Jason giving eachother high five on ESPN Sports Center the next day after a home run hit. Sunday's game was fun too- and then it was time to head back home Sunday evening. It was so nice to fly instead of spending 11 hours or so in the car! What a fun weekend.....it was a little hot for me (I had to put ice cubes on my arms and legs to keep cool) but so worth it to hang out with the Hammonds and have some Brewer fun (for Joe times that fun by 100 since he is a Brewers nut)!!
