Married to a Bird Lover!

So on our vacation to Mexico this February Todd (our brother-in-law) who is an avid bird watcher, got Joe into bird watching too! The two of them would wake up early and be gone for hours with their binoculars in search of rare Mexico birds. Ever since that trip, Joe is obsessed with birds. We have to take the binoculars out on walks, and we even purchased two bird feeders. At first we didn't have many birds visiting us, probably because we live in a townhome and we have a patio and not really an official yard. Well, in time birds began to seek out our feeder. Joe would run around the house screaming "check it out- we have a bird" and it reminds me of how my Dad would tell us to be quiet at the dinner table because we had finches or cardinals on the feeder.
So, here are some pics that my Bird Lover has taken!!!! PS- thanks to Todd for creating a new obsession - on top of football, baseball, hot dogs, and cheese. :)

Anniversary Weekend Pics!

These pics are long overdue too! For our anniversary we went to Cavannaugh's resort in Brainerd - right by Madden's and Cragun's on Gull Lake. We left town about 12:30 on Friday and stopped at a few bars on the way - Chico's and The Blue Goose. We stopped at these places because they are my Dad's favorite hot spots on the drive up, and we wanted to enjoy the ride with no place to be at no particular time.

We checked into the resort and went to the driving range. It was a little chilly but nice and sunny. That night we went to Bar Harbor for a nice dinner and live music. Saturday we got up and read books by the lake for a little while. We then ventured out on a long walk. There is a nice walking trail through the woods that starts at the resort. We ventured over to Cragun's and walked through that resort too. We then took off to Nisswa to do some shopping. After we shopped 'til we dropped we headed to Zorbas on Gull to watch the Kentucky Derby. We placed a bet and won $50! It was nice and relaxing to just hang out and not have any place to be. On the way back we stopped at Madden's for dinner and walked around that resort a little bit too.

Sunday we sat outside in the sun by the lake, walked around the resort, and headed to the Quarterdeck for brunch. We hit the road and I slept almost the whole way home. :)

It was a great anniversary weekend. The weather was perfect and it was great to just have some down time together and enjoy eachother's company!!

Baby tickles!

I am a horrible blogger as of late....I still need to put some pictures up from our anniversary weekend. So sorry!

Not a ton to update you on- although I have been feeling some serious baby kicks and tickles this week! I also think my stomach has popped out a few inches. I finally look pregnant instead of a beer or ice cream belly - hopefully to others anyway! :) The baby likes to tickle me in the same spot in my upper belly and it makes me laugh - I have no idea if it's a foot, hand, head or what...but it's cool to actually feel the little bugger that is overtaking my body. Makes it feel much more real!!!

I've been feeling good- but can you believe how hot it got? It was 97 yesterday and 92 today..crazy! Summer is here. Finally!
