Liam: 10 months

It is crazy to think that in just two short months, Liam will be one. This guy in the past month has grown up exponantially fast. He is no longer worm crawling, that only lasted like two weeks. He is full on speed crawling now. He has two teeth (finally). He can crawl up stairs, hence the quick run to Target for baby gates the other week. He is standing and motoring around the room while holding onto things. He can open the screen door! (Note to self: do not keep screen door open unless I am sitting right there). And the list goes on for Liam....he eats all foods just cut up into tiny pieces which is a nice change from baby food. Baby food was getting too messy since his favorite past time is to talk and spray the baby food all over me, my clothes, my hair, my face. Fun huh?

Liam is so happy and smiley. He gets excited a lot and shakes while making these crazy loud noises- usually when eating, playing with something new, when he sees a balloon, or when we are on top of a slide. I think he will be my no fear and adventure seeking son, but we will see. Liam can high five, clap, dance, point, give kisses and is so much fun to be around. I love walking into his room each morning being greeted with the biggest smile. He is very playful. He already wrestles and tackles. He jumps on me and giggles. He has the best belly laugh and I know exactly what to do to hear it. He chases his big bro around the house and loves to see what he is up to.

I love watching my two boys play together and look out for each other. It truly melts my heart to see these boys grow up together and already starting to be friends.

Braden: 2 years + 9 months

My oldest son is 2.75 years old as I like to say. The terrible three's are approaching (well, they say that the terrible two's have now change to three's), so I am bracing myself as I see more meltdowns creeping in and more "no mama's". Oh well. If the worst is upon us now, I am a-ok as he's a pretty darn good kid.

What is Braden doing at 2.75? Well he's smacking the ball like shown above in the video. No need for a tee anymore. I play catch with him and he wails the ball at me. He swims with a life jacket on. He rides his tricycle on his own down the sidewalks in front of our house and on the side. I no longer worry about him running into the street, phew. Braden is always a bundle of fun and up for anything. He enjoys parks, swimming, anything sports related (baseball, soccer, golf, football, running, etc..) He loves his construction trucks, cars and trains. He loves reading. He can sing the ABCs and knows how to count up to 10, maybe more. He puts on his own shoes (sometimes on wrong feet). He is extremely social and loves being around other kids/people.

My oldest son is growing into a little man. Last night he watched a cartoon in the basement while I watched a show in the living room. Ah, some independence. :) He looks out for his little brother and tells me if he is doing anything dangerous. Braden went to his first Twins/Brewers game and loved it. He has gone fishing twice this summer and loves that too. He got to go on rides at Como Zoo all by himself for the first time. The smile on his face was precious. He is really proud when he can do things on his own. I don't think there's much that he doesn't like to do, except maybe eat vegetables and use the potty right now (a little digression). :)We can have full conversations with Braden and he is constantly asking "why", "how come" and "what is that"? Inquisitive little fella that is always learning and amazes me each and everyday with his ability to think and do like a little man.

Celebrations!

The last couple of weekends have been eventful for us. Two Sundays ago we baptized Liam. It was a special day. It took us a while, but we officially became members of a church here in Woodbury, we took the Baptism class and we finally had the time to host a party. We had family in town from Wisconsin for the weekend. Braden loved the company where he woke up and got to play with people everyday. The weekend was hot, so we got to go swimming with cousins. Liam Jude was a hoot at the actual Baptism, talking loud and making everyone laugh. We are proud of our little guy who is now a member of the church with awesome Godparents to help him grow in his faith (along with us). After the Baptism, we tried to stay cool in the garage. Food and the company was great. Braden was sad that the party was over, the next day he kept asking "where is the party Momma?" :)

Then, last weekend was Father's Day. Friday night we took Braden to his first Twins/Brewers game at Target Field. Since he can recite the Brewers line-up, he was so excited to see the players in person. He got to pick out what he wanted to eat- licorice and popcorn. He cheered, clapped, and saw home run fireworks. He even made it to the end of the game, and then fell asleep in the car on the way home. What a fun night for a 2.75 year old! Then on Saturday we went to dinner as a family of four. Sunday we ventured up to my Dad's for a little boat ride. Braden was sad that he didn't catch a fish this time, but he got to drive the boat which is pretty darn cool. Liam loved watching the water splash when the boat went fast and was in awe at the water skiers going by. I think I have two water boys on my hands (not that I didn't know that already with our visits to the pool and beaches).

This coming weekend continues the fun...more on that later.
